The City of Ember
by Jeanne DuPrau

This book is very good! Unlike most books I've read, this book wasn't boring. I didn't want to stop reading it! I really enjoyed it. It gives very detailed descriptions. I felt as if I was there watching everything, as if it was a movie in my head! This boo is one of the best books I've every read! I would definitely recommend this book to my friends!

City of Ember is a story about a girl Lina and a boy Doon who live in a city called Ember. It was built underground by people called the Builders. Nobody knows it's underground though. The people of Ember only had enough provisions for 200 years. The Builders left instructions on how to get out. Lina finds the instructions but they were ripped and Lina and Doon find a way out while uncovering a secret about the mayor. I would say it was a unique book because nobody else would think of an idea for a story like that. I loved reading the book and my friend bought the book because I told her about it!

This book was great. I thought it was a very enjoyable book to read. I would recommend it to anyone who loves to read. Its is about a city that survives on a short food supplies and light bulbs, because the sky is always dark. When that supply is running out, two brave children have to go an adventure to learn the secrets of their town.
