Midnighters:
The Secret Hour
by Scott Westerfeld

In the town of Bixby, Oklahoma, time freezes every day at midnight for one hour. Five teens who call themselves Midnighters roam the streets during this secret hour and share it with other beings. They avoid each other with a shaky border between them. At least until Jessica Day moves to Bixby. The other creatures immediately sense a great power in her, and are determined to destroy her before she can use it. This was a unique book because no one has ever written about an hour freezing. I loved this book because it was fantasy/science fiction, but I didn't like the cussing. I would (and have) recommend his book to my friends.

Scott Westerfeld has created a simply must read. His book "Midnighters" is amazing and creative. In his book for one hour every night time freezes. Only a small group of people don't freeze. During this hour monsters called slithers and darklings walk the streets. When Jessica Day moves in the monsters start to attack her and it's up to her and her friends to find out why.
