The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman is the first part of a
series of three books. It begins when Lyra and her daemon Pantalaimon
hide in a wardrobe at Jordan College in Oxford. The information
that they overhear about Dust changes their lives forever. First,
when children are being kidnapped by the Gobblets, what will
happen to them? Can Lyra save them when she, too, gets kidnapped
on an expedition up north? Will she succeed in rescuing her
true father from the armored bears of Svalbard? Find all this
