I read "Crandalls' Castle" by Betty Ren Wright. The main characters in the book are Charli and Sophia. Sophia has a special ability that she knows about things before they happen. At the beginning of the story, Charlie's Uncle Will buys a castle that is supposedly haunted, to turn into a bed and breakfast. Uncle Will's son, Dan, and Charli go to check out the Castle. While they were upstairs, they heard singing and crying, but no one was in the room. Charli and Sophia are hired to help Uncle will fix up the house. While they are working a small boy named Jake came into the house for some lemonade. When he was looking around the house he saw a lady in a rocking chair, but when he showed Charli and Sophia, the lady was gone. Charli believed Jake, but Sophia didn't. The next time they went to work they room got dark and in the window Charli saw a shadowy ghost and ran out the door all the way home. Tomorrow the twins, Terry and Gene, went to the Castle with the two-year-old baby, Mickey, in his stroller. Sophia guesses the twins took Mickey to Crandalls' Castle to see what the big deal about it is. Charli, Dan, Sophia, and Lilly, Dan's mom go to the Castle and find the twins scared by the front entry way. The twins tell the group that a lady took Mickey and said to wait until she came back. They all go upstairs to the room where Charli and Dan heard the singing and find the ghost and a squirming figure under a quilt. The squirming figure was Mickey who was being suffocated by the ghost and they all ripped the quilt off Mickey and save him. The Chrandalls all thank Sophia so much for knowing where the kids were.

I liked this book because the author made you want to keep reading to see what happens next.
