LANDS - MISSOURI

After the War of 1812 legislation was enacted to reward military service by entitling veterans to claim land in the western and northwest territories. This land is known as "bounty land" and was acquired by a veteran through a multi-step process beginning with a Bounty Land Warrant. The veteran applied for a warrant and if it was granted, used the warrant to apply for a land patent. The warrant is a document that shows that the veteran is entitled to bounty lands based on his service. The following dates are available.
