BEA's economic statistics, which provide a comprehensive, up-to-date picture of the U.S. economy, are key ingredients in critical decisions affecting monetary policy, tax and budget projections, and business investment plans.

    The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is the principal fact-finding agency for the Federal Government in the broad field of labor economics and statistics. The BLS is an independent national statistical agency that collects, processes, analyzes, and disseminates essential statistical data to the American public, the U.S. Congress, other Federal agencies, State and local governments, business, and labor. The BLS also serves as a statistical resource to the Department of Labor.

Published by the Federal Government, this book contains many statistics that are compiled by the government. The most relevant for business are the sections on Labor Force, Employment and Earnings, Income Expenditures, and Wealth, Prices, Business Enterprise, Manufactures, Wholesale and Retail Trade, and Banking, Finance and Insurance.

Schaum's Outline of Business Statistics
519.50246 Kazmier

This book gives comprehensive coverage of business statistics. Everything from the definitions of data to how they are computed are presented in this book.

Databases

The library district subscribes to several online databases that may help you with your research. Those with a "Remote Access" button can be used from your home computer with a valid library card.

For information regarding economics and statistics, you may want to try Business Decision Pro or STAT-USA.

With Business Decision Pro you are able to find out information about your targeted marketing location. How much money do people in a certain radius spend on clothing? You can find this type of information and much more using Business Decision Pro.

STAT-USA may only be used in the library buildings. When using STAT-USA you will want to go to the National Trade Databank. The NTDB provides access to Country Commercial Guides, Market Research reports, Best Market reports and other programs.
