Foundation Minutes- Board Meeting

Call to order- 3:56PM

Motion by Warlene Reed to accept minutes from September 18, 2003 Foundation Board Meeting as presented

Financial Report given by Bob Houck  

Bob circulated balance sheet.  Bob Houck supplied all information related to investments. The summary indicates current assets of 199,115.60.

Director's report- Carl Sandstedt

The District is anxious to land bank some property for development in eight to ten years. Cannot afford a full service branch unless technological efficiency allows reallocation of staff and resources. With western growth, the District may have to have two facilities, one north, and one south of I-70.  Possible location West of Wentzville on beltway.

Winghaven Library Express is doing very well- 43% of collection in circulation.

The District is also working with Whittaker toward the possible location of a library express operation in New Town.

04-01 Householder Scholarship

Taking applications for the Jan 2004 meeting.


New Business-

04-07 Motion made by Bill Zollmann to spend $150 for sponsoring the Vision St. Charles County Leadership.

04-08 Motion by Bill Zollmann to accept independent audit by Schowalter & Jabouri.

Motion by Bill Zollmann to reimburse library district for cost of audit, amount reimbursed will be related to percentage of assets owned by foundation in relation to total amount audited by library district.

New  Business-

04-09 Motion made by Tim DeGhelder for the foundation to supply up to $150 for the third annual Trivia Night scheduled for Saturday, April 24th 2004.

New Business-

04-10 Library looking into land donations in West of St. Charles County.  Future expansion at New Town will be a development possibility if a majority of the costs comes in the form of donations.
