
Termination
Separation from service with the Library District shall generally be for the following:
- Voluntary resignation
- Disciplinary action
- Reduction in force
VOLUNTARY RESIGNATION
Resignations shall be submitted in writing to the immediate supervisor. One months notice is expected from all professional and management staff. Two weeks notice is expected from all other staff.
DISCIPLINARY ACTION
In most cases, dismissal results only after every other avenue has been explored. There are certain instances when immediate dismissal is the most appropriate alternative for the Library District, library personnel, the public, and the employee in question.
REDUCTION IN FORCE
There are times when positions within the District are no longer practical or appropriate. If a position is eliminated, the District will make every attempt to locate another position within the system for the employee.
