Introductory & Provisional Periods

All employees shall serve a 6-month introductory period when they begin employment with the Library District. During the first 6 months of employment there will be a performance evaluation at 10 weeks, and again at 6 months after the date of hire to determine the employee’s willingness and ability to carry out duties and objectives of the Library District.

All promotions given employees shall be provisional, pending a 6 month working test period. Performance evaluations shall occur at 10 weeks and 6 months after promotion. If the employee in unable to perform satisfactorily in the new position, he will be demoted to his former level, if such a position is available.
