Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Effective 7/1/96, the Library District adopted an Employee Assistance Program as a mechanism for dealing with employees personal concerns which affect the work situation, or as an aid to those employees and family members who voluntarily wish to use the program as a means of resolving a personal problem. The EAP, which we have established, makes prepaid, confidential, professional assistance available to employees and their immediate family members. The services provided by our EAP cover a wide range of personal problems including stress, marital conflict, family concerns, legal matters, career concerns, alcohol and drug abuse, communication problems and financial issues.
Our EAP policy protects the confidentiality of all employees who choose to use the program. Nothing will be disclosed about any employees participation in the EAP unless they give specific, written consent to do so (except in life threatening situations when a written consent is not possible to obtain).
The EAP is a prepaid benefit provided by the Library District for all full time and part time employees. There will be no charge for any services provided by the EAP staff. Should a referral to an outside community resource be indicated, the cost of services will be coordinated with the Library Districts medical benefit plan.
